We’re teaming up with our friends at Oaks and Spokes for our annual “Bike to the Movies” night during Bike Month. This year’s feature is the cycling classic Breaking Away, and as a special bonus, we’ll open the show with the short film Tandem, a movie about love (and love of bikes) shot right here in Raleigh.

BREAKING AWAY is a funny, heartfelt coming-of-age classic about four working-class friends in Bloomington, Indiana trying to figure out what comes next after high school. At the center is Dave, a bicycle-obsessed dreamer who idolizes Italian cyclists and hopes to race his way toward something bigger. Full of sharp humor, underdog spirit, and one unforgettable bike race, it’s a charming story about friendship, family, and finding your place.

TANDEM is a short film by Triangle-based filmmaker Darryl Jones. The film is about two strangers who cross paths biking through Raleigh, and their chance encounter  sparks a romance that changes them both forever.

Hope you can join us for the third annual Bike to the Movies Night, hosted by Oaks and Spokes.
