Join us for a night of art & advocacy at the Raleigh premiere of Growing Pains on May 18th, 6–9 PM at The Rialto Theatre. Presented by CATALYZE HER in partnership with local LGBTQ+ nonprofit Hope for Teens, the critically acclaimed feature film was inspired by writer/director Catherine Argyrople’s experience as a childhood cancer survivor and Mariana Fabian’s, an Oak City writer, experience growing up as a lesbian in a Hispanic household. Growing Pains was featured at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival’s Diversity Spotlight by Nielsen and premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival in NYC.

Growing Pains follows childhood best friends who face the tumultuous transition from middle to high school as their friendship drifts apart. The critically acclaimed film is a real & raw coming-of-age story about identity, sexuality, and the aftermath of surviving cancer.
