Raleigh's Local Cinema since 1989: Mission Valley, Rialto, Six Forks Station

The Rialto

About the theatre

INDY Week Best of the Triangle for years running and finalist as "Best Place to See an Independent Film"!

The Rialto is among the finest and most charming theatres in the Triangle. Opening in 1942, it is among the few theatres that have been in continuous use since its original grand opening as The Colony Theatre during World War II. Now renovated, it still retains its original history and beauty, with its vintage recessed lighting and performance stage.

The Rialto has one large theatre with Dolby Digital sound systems and state of the art digital projection equipment and specializes in foreign, art and independent films as well as the Rocky Horror Picture Show every 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday at midnight.

If you want a distinctive and unique movie going experience, this is the theatre to come to. We even serve beer and wine along with our other concessions!

Also, check out our great repertory series MONDAY AT THE MOVIES!

The Rialto won Best In the Triangle for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

If you have a special event or meeting, want to show a movie to all your friends, or are planning a movie-themed party, consider having it at the Rialto or Mission Valley.
