Raleigh's Local Cinema since 1989: Mission Valley, Rialto, Six Forks Station

Cinema, Inc. Series

The Cinema Inc. is a Raleigh-based nonprofit film society and shows the very best in classic films and at a great price too -- 12 films for $20. That's only $1.67 per movie, which makes Cinema, Inc. the Triangle's biggest entertainment bargain. Screenings are held at 7:00pm on the 2nd Sunday of every month at the historic Rialto Theatre. Admission is by season ticket only. For the latest film schedule and for ticket information, check out the Cinema, Inc. website: www.cinema-inc.org.

It all began in 1966...

"The Cinema, Inc. is the oldest continuously operating community-based nonprofit film society in Raleigh, the state of North Carolina, and probably the entire nation," says long-time board member and current president, Dr. Peter B. Corson. "When we started out in 1966, there were very few local theaters that screened vintage movies of historical or artistic importance, including art films and foreign movies with subtitles."

Corson explains that the film society "filled an important gap for local aficionados of fine film. Four decades later, we are still going strong and expect another sellout this year. Our screenings may be the only chance most of our subscribers have to see some of their favorite movies on the big screen."
